Steve Runkle will present a program on the Philadelphia Campaign of the Revolutionary War on Tuesday, April 22, 2014, at 7:00 p.m. at the Dillsburg Area Public Library. The presentation chronicles the most critical year of the American Revolutionary War, from July 1777 through June 1778. The events of the time period include the Battles of Brandywine, Paoli and Germantown, the capture of Philadelphia, the winter at Valley Forge and the Battle of Monmouth. Personalities described include the two Howe brothers, George Washington, the Marquise de Lafayette, Anthony Wayne, Nathanael Greene, John Sullivan, Count Casmir Pulaski, John Burgoyne, Benedict Arnold, Baron von Steuben, Charles Lee and Carlisle’s own Molly Pitcher.
